  • It can cause headaches and TMJ pain
  • Managed with a splint and the right plan

01What is bruxism?

It is the habit of clenching or grinding your teeth, often during sleep and without realizing it. Over time it wears the teeth and overloads the joint.

02Signs to recognize it

Worn or sensitive teeth, jaw pain or fatigue on waking, headaches and joint clicking are common signs.

You don't have to get used to waking up with a tense jaw or a headache.

03How it's treated

Management includes protecting the teeth with a custom splint and addressing associated factors. A correct diagnosis prevents the problem from progressing.

·Frequently asked questions

Can bruxism be cured?

It is effectively controlled with the right management, protecting your teeth and relieving tension.

Can any dentist make the splint?

It must be custom and well indicated; an assessment ensures it's the right one for your case.
